For many, the pandemic exacerbated circumstances for families in need — making the 2020 holiday season even more stressful for parents unable to purchase holiday gifts for children who are already dealing with the isolation and uncertainty of the times. At Logical Position, we take the common refrain “We’re all in this together” as a reminder to step up and help our local communities during these difficult times.
In an effort to spread holiday cheer to less fortunate children, Logical Position employees spent the month of December hosting an employee toy drive benefiting the Toys for Tots program — donating nearly 200 toys company-wide in the cities in which we operate.
Reimagining Giving Back During a Pandemic
In “normal” circumstances, Logical Position employees can be found donating their time and talents to local charities throughout the year. In 2020, though, LPers had to rethink how to continue to give back while keeping themselves — and their communities — safe. To make gifting easy, the Toy Drive was designed to be virtual and contactless. Employees had seven donation sites to choose from when selecting their toy to be gifted, one in each LP office location. Then, a group of Toy Drive helpers across all offices facilitated the drop-off of each location’s toys to their local Toys for Tots chapter.
Logical Position’s Manager of Employee Experience, Emmy Thomas, shares why LP chose to donate to the Toys for Tots program and how we galvanized employees across Las Vegas, Chicago, Charlotte, Austin, Phoenix, Denver, and Portland to participate:
“We were drawn to the Toys for Tots program not only because of their ongoing mission to spread joy to vulnerable children in our communities, but they also operate where Logical Position has offices — allowing us to utilize their established networks to streamline our drive so that we could focus on donations,” said Thomas. “It was our top priority to organize a drive that would be impactful, but also safe for our employees, so we designed it to be virtual and contactless for those donating toys. We are grateful to Toys for Tots for making it easy for us to get involved and safely drop off the donations at collection sites.”
Keeping Our Community Commitment, No Matter the Circumstances
While 2020 forced us all to go virtual and changed the way LP operates, including our involvement in charitable campaigns like this one, one thing has remained the same: Our commitment to helping the less fortunate in our communities. We look forward to getting out of our (home) offices and back in our neighborhoods to volunteer and help others — whether that be our annual Back to School Supply Drive benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, hosting a blood drive for the American Red Cross, planting trees to save our planet, or beautifying a community park. But until it is safe for us to be together again, we’ll continue to reimagine ways to give back while keeping our distance.
